AWP Conference
February 8 – 10, 2024
An annual showcase of hundreds of exhibitors, AWP’s bookfair is the nation’s largest marketplace for independent literary presses and journals, creative writing programs, writing conferences and centers, and literary arts organizations.
Through the week, we hosted signings by Michealla Thornton and Elijah Burrell, Skies of Blur. We also co-hosted an Offsite event, “Readings from Around Here,” with writers from Belle Point Press, The New Territory, Red Earth MFA, and Emerald City. Thanks to Casie Dodd at Belle Point Press for organizing!
The Pageturner: a fundraising event to fuel new stories about our region
October 21, 4-8 p.m. at The Hayloft at Lifted Spirits Distillery, Kansas City, MO
In an evening at The Pageturner, you’ll meet Midwestern journalists, writers and artists of The New Territory magazine, preview the magazine’s new podcast River Town (in collaboration with KBIA and the Columbia Missourian), hear great talks, participate in a live art auction, eat regional food, imbibe drinks by Lifted Spirits and enjoy live music by a local string band.
